Plans for Vinterfest 2011 are soon fully developed. With the work name Birth of a Moving Image the festival will once more take place in Mora, Orsa and Älvdalen in the beautiful county of Dalarna, Sweden. Vinterfest 2011 will take place 10-13 February.

Artistic Director Martin Fröst and the orchestra DalaSinfoniettan have this year invited Swedish rising star Matilda Paulsson, the mezzo soprano who made a great impression with her debut as Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier on the Royal Opera stage in Stockholm, 2009. Matilda will perform together with Swedish high class male-choir Orphei Drängar.

Once more we proudly present mega star Janine Jansen, violin. Together with violist Maxim Rysanov and cellist Torleif Thedéen she will make a trip to Vinterfest a memory for life. Other exciting artists are pianists Vikingur Olafsson and Kathryn Stott, the American media artist Lillevan, the violinists Fredrik Paulsson and Julia-Marie Kretz and pianist Johan Fröst.

World famous folk music trio Frifot wtih musicians Lena Willemark, Ale Möller and Per Gudmundson will also pay us a visit. DalaSinfoniettan is conducted by Tobias Ringborg.
